Venture Partner Gina Marrone provides expertise in business operations, business development, strategic sales and marketing, and customer success. The ambitious founder of several companies, she understands the struggles inherent with startups and provides compassionate, wise feedback that enables founders to advance along their journey.

After earning her degree from Florida Atlantic University, Gina spent 20 years in the maritime industry as a founder/operator of multiple marinas and businesses in the popular and busy Fort Lauderdale and Miami hubs. While engaging with builders, owners, and operators, Gina heard consistent complaints and/or ideas on how to solve specific problems. And, it wasn’t until 2016 when she joined the restructuring team of a world renowned shipyard, Lauderdale Marine Center, (purchased by a large Private Equity firm) that she saw how a new, exciting change could make a difference in the industry.

Fast forward to 2020. After years in the industry, Gina set out to build a consulting agency aimed at bringing together entrepreneurs and businesses working on emerging maritime and ocean technologies. She realized that the maritime industry had antiquated technologies and methodologies, along with a lack of mentorship, transparency and overall accountability. Since this makes  ideation and advancement difficult, she wanted to change that, which is why Gina joined the Hive Hatch team.

Growing up in the small beach town of Narragansett, Rhode Island may have sparked Gina’s initial interest in the maritime industry. The mother of three aspiring young entrepreneurs, Gina enjoys boating, paddleboarding, writing, gardening, and mountain biking.  She volunteers for the Winterfest Boat Parade and has served on the MIASF Member Committee.
